We have successfully got our footage onto the Macs and edited together very easily thanks to the demonstration we were shown.

Preliminary Task

We have been given a quick demonstration on how to edit videos using Final Cut Express and also how to import videos from iMovies to Final Cut Express. This will now help us to edit our Preliminary Task.

We have now recorded the footage and are now ready to upload this onto the iMacs.

Me and Susannah have planned what to film for our preliminary task and are now going to carry it out.

'Infatuation' storyboard

Composition

We took this picture using the rule of thirds. This is a 9 squared grid and it can be applied by lining up the subjects within the guidelines.

When the picture was being taken, we considered nose room and head room. Because I was looking to the right, we left more room infront of where I was looking. We changed the settings on our camera to show us the rule of thirds. This is how we managed to show more nose room and head room. We used the top line of the intersection to show us where we should place the eyes.

1. Ext. Street - night
Tracking side shot follows Mia's mum and Damien (the Janitor) as they walk along the street - Mia's mum infront of Damien - arguing. They stop walking as Mia's mum turns around (still arguing). Arc shot is used here. Mia's mum walks away. Damien is stood still - over the shoulder camera shot watching Mia's mum.

2. Int. house - basement - day
Close up shot of a person's hand holding a pencil drawing a picture (with great force).

3. Int. house - basement - night
Mid shot of person hanging the picture on the wall. Then an over the shoulder shot of the picture he hung on the wall which then zooms out to a long shot of the person. He then turns around and we see who he is.

4. Ext. school - day
Close up of bell and then an extreme long shot of school. Goes to a long shot of the school doors where students come out.
