The Opening of 'Infatuation' - Initial Ideas

Idea #1
Flashback – opening credits (last approx. 1 minute)
Guy + girl (janitor + Mia’s mum) are together and in a relationship
Having an argument outside...split up…
End up hitting and shouting…
Present times – when film starts
Guy is looking out the window and turns around (camera can’t see his face because it is a dark room) and puts up a picture on a wall - of many images of the girl – that he drew of her. He turns around – street lamp shines on guy from outside – we finally see his face!
School bell rings…

Idea #2
Starts with Mia Stewart
Sitting at school with her boyfriend and friends – having a laugh…
Goes to the guy who is looking at a newspaper cutting – Mia’s mum’s murder!

Pitching Our Idea

This movie is called Infatuation
In Louisiana 2009, a high school cheerleading captain called Mia Stewart lives the perfect life with the perfect guy and ultimate popularity, but there’s one thing missing; her mum, who was murdered when Mia was just 5 years of age. The school janitor, who once dated Mia’s mum 2 years before Mia was born, never got over this but when he saw Mia at the age of 17, it brought all the memories of his depressing childhood back to him. He wasn’t going to let what he desired get away from him again. Mia finds herself the subject of infatuation and must fight to escape this terrifying and sadistic discovery.
